This is my pit bull pup Akira. Shes just around a year old now. How does a puppy go from being this cute to being one of the most hated breeds of dogs in the country. The blame for the way these dogs act usually goes on the dog for some reasons unknown when it should be put on the owner themselves. This however hardly happens in todays world. The people that own these dogs and don't act responsibly with them are giving the people that truly love this breed of dog a bad reputation by acting this way. For example, people going to the dog park where they can let there dogs loose for exercise, its really obvious that pit bulls don't belong here unleashed or for that matter anywhere in public unleashed for reasons obviously known. No one knows what could happen even if the pit isn't doing anything wrong if another dog gets too aggressive and the pit bull reacts will usually end up seriously hurting the other dog. Even if the pit bull is the most loving dog in the world. No matter what its automatically the pit bulls fault. This shouldn't be the case. Pit bulls along with any other dog that has an aggressive side should never be let loose in public and always be kept on a leash. That in itself should make it the owner of the pit bulls fault for not being a responsible owner. There is not really a need for putting the dog to sleep for something the owner should be penalized for. Its the responsibility of the pet owner to insure that his/her pit bull does not get into a situation that could make a dog react in this way. If your walking your dog down the road and I'm walking Akira as well and i notice that my pit bull is acting aggressively towards your dog, its my job as the owner of this type of breed to get her out of this situation which would be to turn and walk the other way away from the other dog. Just the same as someone walking a German Shepard, rottie, doberman or any of these other dogs that have aggressive natures but none of them are viewed the same way as the pit bull.
